Executive Board
The purposes of the North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association (NCBCA) are:
- To promote the growth, enhancement and the highest possible standards of interscholastic basketball in North Carolina.
- To help maintain the highest possible standards of the basketball coaching profession and to work together for the improvement of interscholastic basketball in North Carolina.
- To honor and recognize players and coaches for their achievements and accomplishments in North Carolina Basketball.
- To support the overall objectives of the North Carolina Coaches Association.
To be a member of the North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association (NCBCA) you must meet the following membership qualifications.
- He/She must be “actively engaged in coaching basketball in the public schools of the State of North Carolina on the high school (NCHSAA member school) or junior high/middle school level.” In order to be considered “actively engaged in coaching basketball,” a person must meet at least one of the following.
- be a bona fide faculty member
- work as a basketball coach for the school and be paid for these duties
- work as a school approved non-faculty coach and be paid for these duties
- work as a school approved non-faculty volunteer coach
- be a retired coach (A—D)
- He/She is currently coaching basketball at a North Carolina college or university.
- Membership Privileges
- Voting - All members are eligible to vote for current business at the annual meeting.
- Honors - Coaches currently coaching at member schools will be able to nominate and vote for All District and All State players and teams. Coaches will also be eligible to be selected as All District and All State Coach of the Year.
- Receive issues of the NCBCA newsletter.
- Children of member coaches are eligible for scholarships.
Annual Dues shall be used to achieve the goals and objectives of the NCBCA.
- Annual Dues are $15.00 payable to North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association (NCBCA).
- Membership year runs July 1—June 30.
The officers of the North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association (NCBCA) shall consist of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Past President. These officers and all past presidents will make up the Executive Board of the NCBCA.
- PRESDIENT. The President shall preside at all meetings of the NCBCA, all executive board meetings and shall discharge all other duties of the presiding officer.
- VICE-PRESIDENT. The Vice-President shall preside and perform all duties of the President in the absence of the President, and shall undertake such other duties as the President or Executive Board may prescribe. The Vice-President shall be the President elect.
- SECRETARY. The Secretary shall record the minutes of all meetings of the NCBCA, shall keep the official membership roll with the assistance of the Treasurer. The Secretary shall conduct the general correspondence of the NCBCA and shall be responsible for all releases regarding the All-District and All State teams and coaches. The Secretary shall be the Vice-President elect.
- TREASURER. The Treasurer shall be entrusted with custody of the funds of the NCBCA and shall be appointed by the Executive Board at the annual meeting.
- PAST PRESDIENTS. The Past Presidents will serve as a voting member on the Executive Board.
- Officer terms will be one year, including President, Vice-President and Secretary.
- Treasurer will be appointed by the Executive Board and the term length shall be determined by the Executive Board.
- The Executive Board shall be responsible for oversight and audit of all monies.
The EXECUTIVE BOARD of the North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association shall consist of the current officers and Past Presidents and shall conduct business prior to the annual meeting.

- All-District
- Executive Board shall select the district chairpersons (men’s and women’s coach) who will conduct the district meetings.
- Each district shall be represented by a men’s and women’s coach who will chair the All-District teams and coaches selection process.
- The All-District committee shall consist of all members within such district.
- Shall recruit coaches for NCBCA membership.
- All-State teams - All-State teams and coaches shall be selected by the All-District men’s and women’s chair and the Executive Board.
